I constantly see wide open point guards pass the ball to a player right next to the 3 point line or someone not in their own particular range instead of taking a wide open shot or layup. Why is this?
I believe that players today are getting to critisized when they score to many points, (called ballhogs, and saying they need to pass more. ) as dumb as that sounds. So they try and build up their assists stat so that they do not look like a selfish player, even if it is hurting their team.
Now, as I see it...some players are being selfish by passing the ball. because it will hurt their team more than it will help it.
